Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who uses Navigate?
Navigate is used by academic advisors throughout the WSU system. See the full list of WSU user groups.
  2. How do I access the Navigate platform?
Make sure your FERPA training is up to date, then ask your appointing authority to make a formal request for access by submitting the excel request form to access.sis@wsu.edu, with cc to Fran Hermanson. Once activated, you will receive an activation email from EABAdmin allowing you to set up your password. Once you have done so, you can access the Navigate platform using your WSU email address and newly-created password.
  3. What are “success marker” courses?
Success marker courses are selected by faculty and administration and a student’s performance level in the success marker course can provide an early gauge of future performance in a given major to advisors. If a student does not perform well or does not complete a success marker course within the established credits threshold, a notification is triggered and the advisor can intervene.
  4. How do I create a worklist?
Click here ( http://www.eab.com/technology/student-success-collaborative/members/training/2015/module-5 ) for a tutorial on how to create a list in Navigate.
  5. How often is the system’s information updated?
Information is updated each day at 6 a.m. (PST). Updates reflected in MyWSU may not be available in Navigate until the following day.
  6. Who can I contact at WSU if I have more questions, or want more information?
Email Navigate specialist Joe Hewa at joseph.hewa@wsu.edu or SSC facilitator Todd Mordhorst at todd.mordhorst@wsu.edu. For more, check out EAB’s FAQ.
