Dr. Warwick M. Bayly is Washington State University’s Provost and Executive Vice President. He had served as Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine from April, 2001- Oct. 31, 2008. He previously served Washington State University (WSU) as Hospital Director in Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Acting Chair of Veterinary Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Associate Dean of Continuing Education for the College of Veterinary Medicine, Interim Chair of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and Interim Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Bayly is the past-president of the World Equine Veterinary Association; past president of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association; past-president of the Comparative Respiratory Society and has served on the Governmental Affairs Committee American Association Veterinary Medical Colleges. His honors include being named Washington Veterinarian of the Year in 2006, receiving the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Ohio State in 2000 and serving as the McEachern Distinguished Professor in Equine Medicine from 1995-2000 at WSU. His professional interests are: equine exercise science, non-infectious and infectious diseases of livestock, particularly horses.
He holds the following degrees: BVSc from Melbourne University, School of Veterinary Science, Australia; MS from the Ohio State University, Veterinary Clinical Sciences; PhD from the University of Liège, Belgium, Department of Physiology; and Diplomate, American College of Internal Medicine – Large Animal specialty.
