Safety and Accessibility

Maintaining safety on campus is the responsibility of every member of the university community. Some resources that can help you in this effort are listed below. Faculty members should provide these links to students by mentioning them in class, including them in the course syllabus, and posting them on course websites. Additionally, all faculty members should discuss classroom emergency information with their students for each individual classroom or laboratory where they teach. Individual faculty, staff, and students should know the appropriate actions to take when an emergency arises.

Campus Outdoor Warning System (COWS)

COWS provides strategically placed sirens to warn people on campus in case of an ongoing emergency.

Campus Safety Plan

The Campus Safety Plan contains a comprehensive listing of university policies, procedures, statistics, and information relating to campus safety, emergency management, and the health and welfare of the campus community.

Crisis Communication System (CCS)

All faculty members should register their emergency contact information with CCS by going to my.wsu.edu. Please enter your network ID and password to go to the myWSU main webpage. Look for the Emergency Notification box on the right side of the page and click on Register to enter your cell, landline, and email contact information.
