It didn’t take long for the Invest in Success program to make a big difference for Washington State University students.

And the impact is set to double after the Office of the Provost landed a second $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to expand the program, which offers low-income students the chance to save up to $1,000 and receive as much as $4,000 in matching funds.

Students at WSU-Vancouver and WSU-Tri-Cities will now have the opportunity to apply for Invest in Success and applications will open in the fall. Overall, Invest in Success will offer assistance and support for 850 students over five years.

WSU’s Office of Student Financial Services is providing matching funds for the program, and Washington Trust Bank is an important community partner, providing free accounts and services to Invest in Success participants, including those in Tri-Cities and Vancouver.
