Inclement weather policy reminder

Dear colleagues,

With the spring semester starting on Monday and the state experiencing its first significant winter storm of the season through Sunday, now is a good time for us to review WSU’s academic policy for adverse weather conditions. The Educational Policies and Procedures Manual provides direction on how to address reduced or suspended operations when inclement weather makes travel unsafe for faculty and students.

Earlier today, the University sent a news release advising students to exercise caution when returning to campus for the spring semester. The safety of our students is our top priority. Accordingly, please work with students to support their success in your class if they are unable to attend class due to dangerous travel conditions.

Take care,

Bryan K. Slinker

Interim Provost and Executive Vice President
