OFFICE OF ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENTCougs Rise
Summer Programs
Cougs Rise Summer Programs serve a diverse community of high-achieving and ambitious students with a transformative educational experience at a world class institution. Scholars are introduced to the structure and rigor of the university, provided with opportunities to foster meaningful academic and social connections, and empowering them to take ownership of their academic journey. Additionally, participants will benefit from opportunities to build an enduring intellectual and social community with one another, make connections with faculty and staff, and engage in conversations about the benefits and challenges of being a first generation/low-income student. By combining challenging academics with a rich array of extra-curricular programming, Cougs Rise Summer Programs successfully promote the University’s mission to advance, extend and apply knowledge.
Objectives
Upon completion of the program, scholars will be able to:
- Navigate the academic rigor and demands of a university;
- Attend to their intellectual, psychological, and physical well-being;
- Leverage the University’s resources and connections to enhance their academic journey;
- Master the mindset and learning strategies required for lifelong success.
