The first 50 registrants signing up to participate in this fall’s WSU Teaching Academy One-Read Book Club will receive a free, printed copy of Becoming a Student-Ready College: A New Culture of Leadership for Student Success. “The asynchronous, online club will kick off on Sept. 1, so we encourage interested faculty, staff, and graduate students to register as soon as possible,” said academy chair Ashley Boyd.
The Washington State University Teaching Academy has presented awards to faculty members systemwide who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship this year. “We value the accomplishments of this year’s awardees as educators, scholars, and role models for others,” said Kara Whitman, academy chair. “They have gone above and beyond, and it is an honor for the academy to recognize their efforts.”
Free copies of the book, “Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education: Strategies for Teaching,” will be available to the first 50 online registrants for the second Teaching Academy Book Club starting this fall. The academy’s membership consists of select faculty across the Washington State University system who are committed to elevating excellence in teaching and learning. The book club is a top academy initiative.
