Self-nominations are encouraged.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria for Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a current full-time WSU faculty member at the rank of Lecturer or above at time of application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominees will demonstrate sustained instructional excellence in a large class over a minimum of three semesters, with attention to the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Successful strategies to promote Inclusivity, diversity, equity and\/or access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful strategies for active learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consistent record of positive student evaluations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teaching Academy members are not eligible for nomination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please submit an nomination for one large class. If you teach multiple large classes, please submit separate nominations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Takeaways<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The awardee agrees to present at a relevant WSU teaching event within two years following the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Awardee will receive $500 to be used for professional development in the following fiscal year, accompanied by an award plaque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application &amp; Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timing:<\/strong> Nominations will open January 1, 2026 and are due <strong>March 27, 2026.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Applying:<\/strong> Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/provost.wsu.edu\/teaching-academy\/excellence-in-teaching-a-large-class-award\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/provost.wsu.edu\/teaching-academy\/excellence-in-teaching-a-large-class-award\/\">nomination form<\/a> and click \u201csubmit.\u201d &nbsp;<em>*Submitting the nomination form indicates that you have read the above Criteria for Eligibility and agree to them<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What to expect:<\/strong> Information solicited in the online nomination form:\n<ul>\n<li>Nominee contact and WSU demographic information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Course prefix\/number, name, semester(s), location, and # of enrolled students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two 250-word reflections on: 1) Successful strategies to promote Inclusivity, diversity, equity and\/or access, and 2) Successful strategies for active learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A recent syllabus for the course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least three semesters of student evaluations for the course in question.
