The WSU Teaching Academy announces that applications are open for two awards: the Outstanding Publication in the Scholarship of Teaching in Higher Education Award and the Teaching Conference Registration Award. Both awards acknowledge the accomplishments and professional development of WSU faculty and are in line with the Teaching Academy\u2019s goal to elevate excellence. The application deadline for both is March 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Washington State University Teaching Academy<\/a> has set a March 15 application deadline for two awards recognizing faculty efforts\u2014the Outstanding Publication in the Scholarship of Teaching in Higher Education Award<\/a> and the Teaching Conference Registration Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThese awards acknowledge the accomplishments and professional development of WSU faculty and are in line with the Teaching Academy\u2019s goal to elevate excellence in teaching and learning,\u201d said Joy Egbert, academy chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Details on these as well as university-level grants and awards<\/a> are available online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This award of $500 covers the cost of registration fees to attend a conference, meeting, or workshop that will directly enhance the applicant\u2019s classroom teaching and\/or scholarship of teaching. The recipient must attend the event during the July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022 period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This $500 award recognizes WSU faculty for an outstanding publication that is either an article or a chapter. Faculty from any discipline at any rank\u2014career-track or tenured\/tenure-track\u2014are eligible if they published a peer-reviewed article within the scope of teaching and learning in higher education during 2020 or 2021. The focus of the publication can be conceptual, theoretical, practical, or empirical, and the work may be single- or co-authored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The organization serves as the institution\u2019s premier organization dedicated to teaching excellence.
