The Washington State University Teaching Academy announces that applications are open through Nov. 15 for awards to cover faculty registration for a conference to develop and enhance teaching practices and/or the scholarship of teaching knowledge and skills.
Recipients of the award must agree to present a “takeaway” from their conference attendance to the WSU teaching community, said Nicholas Cerruti, academy committee chair for grants and awards.
Such a conference must take place between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.
An applicant must be a current full-time faculty member systemwide at the rank of lecturer or higher at the time of application. They do not have to be members of the WSU Teaching Academy.
All applications will be reviewed by a committee and competitively rated based on how attendance enhances the teaching of the applicant. Awards will be made according to the strength of each application, available funds, and the number of applicants.
Last year, three conference awards were given to applicants.
The WSU Teaching Academy drives implementation of academic goals, supports models of teaching and learning, and facilitates the creation of mindsets and practices of students and faculty.
