Dear Colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well. In collaboration with Dave Cillay, I am pleased to announce that, effective December 1, 2024, Dr. Lisa Guerrero will transfer from the Pullman Chancellor’s Office to the Provost’s Office and become WSU’s Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusive Excellence.
In the coming calendar year, Dr. Guerrero will focus on the following:
- Identify best practices and evidence-based approaches to ensure sustained, long-term inclusive excellence in recruiting, supporting, and retaining faculty.
- Develop a sustainable approach to training faculty, chairs and directors, deans, and tenure and promotion committees in principles and practices to increase inclusive excellence.
- Collaborate with those leading DEI efforts on the Everett, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Global, and Vancouver campuses to coordinate and align efforts across the WSU system.
- Consult with colleges on the Pullman campus to share best practices and coordinate efforts across colleges as needed.
- Create and lead a Provost’s Committee on Inclusive Excellence to support these efforts.
