2026 New Faculty Orientation

The Office of the Provost will host the university’s New Faculty Orientation on August 17, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each campus will have a designated location for participation. Lunch will also be provided, and dietary restrictions will be captured in the registration form.

8:30 – 8:35 AM: Opening Remarks (Katie Cooper, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Development)

8:35 – 8:50 AM: Land Acknowledgement and Native American Programs Welcome (Amanda Boyd, Executive Director for Native American Programs)

8:50 – 9:10 AM: University Welcome (T. Chris Riley-Tillman, Provost and Executive Vice President)

9:10 – 10:50 AM: Land-Grant Mission Pillar Panels (Teaching, Research, Extension, and Outreach)

10:50 – 11:00 AM: Break

11:00 – 11:15 AM: Introduction to Center for Community Standards (Karen Metzner, Associate Dean of Students and Director, and Rodrigo Rocinante, Associate Director)

11:15 AM – 12:15 PM: Student Accommodations 101 (Matthew Jeffries, Assistant Dean of Students and Director)

12:15 – 1:45 PM: Lunch and Campus Introductions

2026-2027 New Faculty Meeting Series

Additional meetings for the 2026 new faculty cohort will be hosted throughout the year. The sessions will be hosted at designated campus locations. The 2026-2027 series will be forthcoming in the near future.
