Kristina Peterson-Wilson joined the Provost’s Office in 2015 and has served in succession of administration leadership roles. In 2023, she was appointed Vice Provost for Academic Administration, expanding her leadership portfolio while continuing to serve as Chief of Staff, a position she has held since 2018. In her current role, she oversees the academic administration, communications, finance, and operations functions within the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President. She also serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Regents, President’s Office, Attorney General’s Office, Human Resource Services, and Government Relations.
As a principal advisor and strategic partner to the Provost and Executive Vice President, Kristina leads the implementation of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic initiatives that advance institutional priorities and organizational effectiveness. She provides strategic counsel and operational leadership to units reporting to the Office of the Provost, with particular emphasis on strategic planning, communications, organizational change, policy development and analysis, organizational effectiveness, and budget alignment.
Kristina was recognized with Washington State University’s Administrative Professional Contribution Award in 2017 and the Crimson Spirit Award in 2022.
