Dear colleagues,
I hope you had a wonderful summer and found time to disconnect and recharge! As we begin the new academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome to the new faculty and staff joining us—welcome to the Cougar family! You’re now part of a vibrant network of educators, researchers, creatives, and, most importantly, colleagues who are here to support your journey and success at WSU.
As we look ahead, I’m energized by President Cantwell’s leadership and look forward to partnering with our leadership teams and all of you, our faculty, staff, and students, to shape WSU’s future. As a land-grant institution, we are united by a community-first mindset, no matter where we are located across the WSU system. Together, we are well-positioned to make a meaningful impact, not just in Washington, but globally.
At the core of what we do is our students. The energy they bring to the classroom and their communities is a defining part of what makes WSU so special. After more than 25 years in academia, I continue to be inspired by the care, resilience, and innovation each new generation brings. It’s an honor to walk alongside them as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
Again, thank you for all that you do. I look forward to working with you this academic year to advance WSU’s mission and impact.
As always, I welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback at provost@wsu.edu.
Best regards,
T. Chris Riley-Tillman
Provost and Executive Vice President
