Advising Forum, Workshops filled with academic insights

 

Faculty, administrators and staff aiming to improve student success at WSU are invited to take part in workshops and meetings featuring the Student Success Collaborative Tuesday, May 19 on the WSU Pullman campus and via AMS.

Also on Tuesday, academic advisors are taking part in the Advising Forum in the CUB Senior Ballroom. It includes sessions on Blackboard, the Student Success Collaborative, the Zzusis mobile app, Advising Notes 2.0, OBIEE and GradesFirst.

Meanwhile, Education Advisory Board consultant Griha Singla will conduct several special sessions for faculty and administrators in addition to programming geared for academic advisors attending the advising technology forum. Singla will conduct a workshop session on the Student Success Collaborative from 9 a.m. to 10:30 for the advising community in the CUB Senior Ballroom. She then will address “Identifying Insights in the Predictive Workbooks” from 11 a.m. to noon in Goertzen Hall 218/220 (changed from CUE) for associate deans and other faculty and staff interested in evaluating data underpinning the predictive analytics in the SSC advising platform.

At 1 p.m. in Goertzen 218/220 there will be a discussion on measurable outcomes and institutional insights from the SSC and at 2:15, Singla will present, “Understanding the Predictive Model,” with a discussion on the factors and data that inform the SSC system.

The SSC meetings and workshops will conclude with an open Q&A session from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 for advisors, faculty, administrators and anyone else who has questions for our SSC consultant. The Q&A session will be held in Goertzen 218/220.
