August 16, 2022 WSU Elevate Conference
The inaugural, annual ELEVATE conference will support WSU faculty and graduate students all across the university system to Engage Learners, Enhance Voices, and Advance Teaching Excellence.
The theme of the conference is “Inclusive Teaching,” and through brief presentations, dialog, and engaged participation, we will demonstrate how structured, active learning can create more equitable classrooms and improve learning for all of our students. Co-sponsors of the WSU-wide conference are the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Transformational Change Initiative, and Academic Outreach and Innovation.
Held concurrently on all six WSU campuses, the conference program features:
- Invited WSU presenters who are recognized for their reflective and evidence-based teaching practices.
- Interactive sessions with colleagues designed to foster collaboration and reflect on how to translate presenters’ ideas into action in the classroom.
- A dynamic lunch-time workshop featuring University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill professors Kelly Hogan and Viji Sathy, experts and authors on inclusive teaching; they will encourage identification of potential inequities and reflect on diversity in WSU classrooms through interactive, hands-on activities.
If you have any questions about the conference, please reach out at tci.grant@wsu.edu.
